It's Christmas eve and snowflakes are falling, like a thousand shimmering stars falling from the nights sky.
There is a crisp chill in the winter air, but yet despite the ice cold weather, our faces still flush when our lips brush against each other.
We go inside and sit by the fire, while sparkling fairy lights dance around the Christmas tree.
We hold each other close and you whisper a sweet love poem to me.
We turn on the radio and Christmas music softly flows around the living room.
I start to feel butterflies, as we both know something will happen soon.
I turn around to find you holding mistletoe,
And we kiss, a long passionate kiss, that takes us into the bedroom where time seems to slow.
And afterwards as I watch you sleep, I think of the presents under the tree,
All wrapped up with big pretty bows, half for you and half for me.
I smile, content, with the knowledge I know,
For we do not need material gifts wrapped in bright shiny bows.
We already have a gift more precious than anything money could buy, a gift everlasting, unconditional and true, For you love me and I love you.
