Mom,

I just wanted to say that I love you very much and am thinking of you every day. I was at the hospital nonstop from Monday until today when I finally left for a few hours. This is the first night I am not sleeping in the waiting room there. I feel so alone without you and not being near to you.

I'm glad that you are doing better. The doctor said that your fever has gone down and that your oxygen count has gone up...both good. Also, they've lowered your sedation medication and hopefully you'll be coming conscious shortly. I'm still debating going to Illinois this weekend (I was supposed to go with work)... I guess it will depend on how it goes with you in the hospital tonight and the first half of tomorrow.

I'm going to go ahead and go to work in the morning for a few hours, but will stop in to see you first. Your grandsons, DJ and Billy, both visited you for awhile today, and Uncle Dennis (your brother) called the ICU when I was there and go to speak to him for a bit. He's very concerned and everyone in the family far and wide are praying for you.

Your son, Gene, has been stuck in California, but is making his way back today since he picked up a load. It's been amazing to see how many people love you and how deeply we all care for you. Even Sister EngelKing who studied the Bible with you visited today and left you a note. That made me feel really good! You've had non-stop visitors and there has not been a minute that SOMEONE has not been there (day and night).

Well, I'm going to go to bed now so I can see you in the morning. I love you, Mom... with all my heart. I'm proud to be your daughter and live every day to make you proud to my mother. *soft kiss on your forehead*

This is sweet. She is lucky.

I love her so much and she still has not woken up. I have read this to her... and many other things as well. Gosh... how I miss my Mom! The brain is God's miraculous creation and perhaps he's one miracle left for us. If not, I know I was the most privilged daughter to have her for my mother and will cherish every moment I spent with her. Thank you for everything...

Take care

Mary, I certainly hope your Mother gets to read or has read this letter to her from you. I can feel the love which surrounds you and your family and that's a good feeling to have in today's world.

This is so sweet.
It made me cry.
You and your mother share a unique bond of friendship.
Your mother will be proud of you every waking moment of her life just because you're her daughter.
I'm sure she loves you more than anything else.
Good luck getting through this, I'll keep you and your mother in my thoughts.
