Picture Credits:
In an alley, amidst debris,
a rose was tossed in apathy.
With sparse sunlight and meager dew,
the stalwart twig took root and grew.
The flower thrived, thru poverty;
brought radiance, for all to see.
God gave her sun; warm rays came down;
the rose blessed God and all around.
As time ticked on, the legend spread,
of Ghetto Rose, so rare - so red.
For homeless folks, a visual treat;
her beauty respite from the street.
Then came the day, two lowly churls,
with scruffy clothes and greasy curls,
ripped stems and blooms to sell for cash -
and tossed the bush into the trash.
The Lord looked down; summoned the Wind,
who blew those boughs from that waste bin.
Her roots found soil, while God just smiled;
twice born again, a special child.
