One magical night.
by Denise Johnson (Age: 28)
copyright 09-20-2006

Age Rating: 10 to 127

Every year there is one special night where the divide between our world and that of the spirit world is at it’s weakest.
A night where the spirit folk walk freely.
A night where magic fills the air.

Witches cast their wicked spells and the devils helpers emerge from hell.
Monsters lurk inside the shadows while goblins run and hide.
Vampires drinking sticky blood and demons dancing on those who have died.

Evil creeps around the earth trying to gain control.
Never managing to fix a strong enough grip, as there is also a pure innocence counteracting every move that evil tries to make.
The innocence found in the hearts and souls of all the children and their families while they celebrate.

Pumpkins, decorations and children’s delight,
As they dress up trick or treating all though the night.
Sounds of laughter and giggling screams,
Candle light, parties and spooky games played in teams.

On this night, a tug of war is played.
Good versus evil in a magical tussle disguised by this special day.
For this is the most enchanted night that the year has ever seen,
This is the night of Halloween!

Oh, yes! Definitely!! This is the kind of write I understand. From the top of my head, as it filters through, to the soles of my feet, and everything tingles with images, and visions, and smells, and sounds, and textures woven into a tapestry of the eternal, even Universal, battle, between Good and Evil. Telling us a story all the while that you are feeding us from your cornucopia of talent. Setting the pace, choosing the words, directing the action, and like any talented writer, making us feel good about the ending.

Excellent and talented writing!

Again, thank you. ^_^

I love your poem! Halloween is my favorite time of the year, because you can dress up and be something else for a night. This is a good poem. :)

I loved this. I love Halloween and all spooky things in life, maybe that's because I am spooky.
Anyway it was a delightful write and a joy to read.

Keep writing, I love your style,

Rich
