Fairy Moon
by Stephen Washam
copyright 04-22-2005

Age Rating: 10 to 127

When the fairy folk come out to play on a starry summer night
A golden halo starts to form around the moon so bright
It’s then that you can see them darting there among the trees
And watch them do their fairy dance as lovely as you please

They cast their golden nets of dreams across the starlit skies
And gather up the shooting stars and glowing fire flies
Like sparkling bits of stardust they shimmer in the night
As they gather in the fairy woods and all of them take flight

Up into the skies they’ll go as through the night they play
Dancing with the moonlight beams across the Milky Way
They all will go to take a dip in a shining starlight pool
Then play a game of hide ‘n seek in the grass so deep and cool

Throughout the night they frolic until the break of day
Then as the dawn begins to break they slowly fade away
It really is a wondrous sight on a summer night in June
When the tiny folk come out to play beneath a fairy moon

Wow. Wow wow wow. This is lovely, amazing, beautiful, awesome...what have you, to sum it up, it's...more that good. Beautiful imagery, what can I say? This is professional material, seriously consider doing something like poetry books. And don't leave this poem out!

I enjoyed this a lot. I of course believe in the little people, probably my Irish ancestry.
A good one for all children, young or old.

This is a great write to read to children before bedtime. It would fill them with pleasant dreams. Very poetic.
