Chilling Wind
Chilling wind swirls multi colored leaves about my feet.
Days ago provided life to great oaks.
Hot days warm nights summer now gone, oh so fleet.
Years measured in seasons now.
Chilling wind swirls leaves about my feet.
Only my memories seem not to be in haste.
While all else seems determined not to waste.
Winters cold will soon be here.
Of that we need not fear.
Chilling wind swirls leaves around my feet.
Offers new memories to contemplate.
Of that I need not wait.
Chilling wind already swirls more leaves about my feet.

I love the chilly winds of autumn and winter that let the leaves blow as they will...what a beautiful poem you've written, Mervin.

Simply enchanting!Iike the way you image the scene of leaves and winds blowing.I eve hummed it out to the tune of another autum song. The song was called Autuam Reel and was very much like your poem!I can't wait to read more!
