The snow fell like a blanket, wrapping up the world.
I watched in sure wonder at its tranquil quality.
And I waited for you, under a darkening sky.
In my hand I held a box, my gift for you.
It had no money value, but it meant the world to me.
I saw you through the white swirls, reaching out for me.
My hand reached for yours, and you pulled me in your arms.
Our lips gently brushed, and pulled away with laughter.
Somewhere in the distance carolers sang “Winter Wonderland.”
How true it was, this was our winter wonderland.
I pushed my gift in your hand, you opened it slowly.
Inside was a key; you asked me what it was for?
I told you it was the key to my heart, and it was all yours.
You kissed me on the forehead, and handed me your gift.
I tore the paper, to reveal a silver heart shaped locket.
What’s this I asked, do I get your heart for Christmas too?
You didn’t say a word, neither did I. But we knew.
I flew into your arms, you held me tight as if to bottle my joy.
The carolers were behind us now singing, “Let it Snow.”
You pushed me away, and gently asked me to dance.
I agreed, and you spun me to the rhythm of freshly falling snow.
Who knows when the carolers moved on, we still continued dancing.
It might have been a blizzard, but what did it matter? I was with you.
There was magic there that night, it still lives in my memory.
Oh, the bliss and pure joy, the best Christmas there ever was.
And I owe it all to you. Merry Christmas, My Love!
