My Watcher at the Gate
by Rissa T. (Age: 17)
copyright 11-01-2004

Age Rating: 13 to 127

You stand forever watchful
Waiting at the gate
I pass you by so many times,
Neither you nor I say a word

One day I hear your piercing scream
I look upon your torn face,
Your tear filled eyes,
Your trembling hands

I gaze upon you
Weakened and scared
I see your agony
Feel your pain.

I know the loneliness in your life,
I share it with you
Pain that binds us, connects us,
Brings us together.

I kneel next to you,
Lifting your chin, looking deep
Into your troubled gaze
The sorrow of your tears

Like orbs of smoke
Drifting on a field of green
A mist of rain falls upon us
Joined in sickness

The daemons of your soul
Are crashing on the glass
Seeping through the walls
Escaping to this world

Crystallizing your heart,
Turning to ice
Leaving you cold, frozen
In a world of torment

Help is beyond our reach
Hatred cuts the flesh
Darkness controls you
As the heart weeps

Sorrow, tragedy
Bleakness surrounds
The dark things creep
Throughout the depths of this Hell

Even more so. It seems that all of your poems are getting longer as you go. It seems like you have a troubled life if it is based on life. I heard that the dreams you have are connected to the way you live. Maybe you are just person with a great imaginations. Great write.

*quarks a brow as a bright smile caresses her lips* I must say! Quite powerful for one as young as you Ms. Rissa. This was an exrodonary piece of work. Loved the emotion, loved the color. Vivid were the pictures, and the feeling of being lost inside your mind. Great job.
