Lace foam waves crashed upon the rocks
I watched them roll in one by one
Infatuated my spirit rose and fell with the tide
I climbed down the hill and stood to feel it’s misty touch
The cold brought relief to my withering soul
The water baptized me in a rush of salty green
I walked in the shallows, wet sand massaged my feet
I felt its heart crying, it was as alone as I
What a horror that we are alone together
We were meant to be one, you and I
But you took my broken heart deep in the waters
You are in there somewhere, unburied far below
The ever-alluring sirens pull at my feet
Begging me to join you in your watery grave
I walked further out, wanting to see you
I’m without even your ghost, I can’t live like this
So I’ll shed one more tear and wave at the shore
I’ll throw myself in and be lost to the sea
