Hello Everyone!

Ok...some more news and update information for ya'll.

I was with Mom on Monday evening and read her all the emails that have poured in over the weekend. She cried at and so I held her and told her it was OK to cry and sometimes it makes us feel better. Her eyes also widened a couple times at funny parts. Now...check THIS out...

She tried to touch her face (maybe to remove a hair or something) and she can't control her hands really well let alone her fingers and the tip of her nail touched her nose. Bill was with me and said, "Now Mom! No picking your nose in public." She grinned!!! Yes!

Then, she tried again and her finger caught the edge of her nose again and Bill said, "Well, Ok. But if you're going to do it, you may as well do it right and double knuckle it." (Or something about double knuckling it.) She grinned really big that time. Bill was in the room along with Bob and I. It was so good to see her smile and to KNOW (not just hope) that she could hear us.

While reading the emails to her, I also could tell that she recognized who I was speaking about. This was extremely encouraging as well.

I was going to get there last night, but I was unable to and so I was going to visit this morning but Gary's babysitter isn't well so I had to take him to school and get to work myself. I did speak with Bill last night and he told me that they moved Mom from the TNICU to the Neurological Recovery Center (still in Blodgett). All her tubes, wires, IV's, machines, etc. are all gone now with the exception of the feeding tube and her catheter. Yay! Yay!! Double Yay!!!

I spoke with Dennis this morning who told me about Grandma speaking over the phone to Mom while they held the phone to Mom's ear for her last night and how she cried. Of course I don't like my mother crying under any other circumstances...but this time I was thrilled! She can hear us, she can understand us, she can remember us.... It's just so amazing!

I'm going there right after work tonight. If anyone wants me to bring an email to her and read it, please send it before 4:30 PM as I will be leaving by 5:00 PM and I'd like to make SURE that there's no lag in cyberspace. Mom needs us more now than ever. If anyone still wants to send me a cassette tape or video tape or CD ROM with pics or movies... I'll make sure she sees/hears them right away.

Well, as I learn more... I'll let you know. As always, if I missed anyone in the TO addresses, please let me know and forward this to them. Please keep praying. I know it's helping! I keep reading and re-reading the following scripture...

Isaiah 40:31... But those who are hoping in Jehovah will regain power. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not tire out.

Please let me know which scriptures/thoughts are keeping you all going through this difficult time.

I love you all. Never forget to hold close those dear to your heart and don't ever miss a chance to tell them just how much you love them!

Thank you so much for all your encouragement... and no prob about "my line"... lol. It's actually a Phillipine saying. Their word is "Ingat", which means "Take care". My mother's father was from Manilla and so I have a warm fuzzy feeling every time I say it. *Big Grin* AND therefore, I don't mind at all when others start saying it.

Ingat,

BrytEyz

She is reacting!
She's making progress.
She'll be out of the hospital in no time, I'm sure.
So hang in there and tell her I said hi.
I wish you and your mother only the best.

Take care,
Paula

p.s. sorry for stealing your line
