**Lewis Shakiel Darrell Tyrique Devonte**
by Jeniffer Brand (Age: 38)
copyright 11-07-2004

Age Rating: 4 to 127

I got a new kitten named Lewis Shakiel!
He has "six" toes on each foot, this is for real!

He's black, brown and white on his nose.
Really, really cute, till you see his toes!

He walks like a bulldog, strutting his stuff!
He thinks he's big and bad, that he's really tuff!

So Vinny gets a hold of him and slapps him around!
But with his big feet, he holds his own ground!

He gets into everything and likes tearing his mouse!
And the quiet is over, cause Shakiel's in the house!

In the middle of the night he plays in my bed!
Waking me up and mad, till I see...."red"!

He's a handfull alright, "always" climbing the screens!
And through the whole house you can hear my screams!

Should anyone come over, I tell them, "beware"!
Cause with his six toes there's nothing he can't tear!

I love him a lot, my little Shakiel!
"I tell myself this, when his claws I can feel"!

Oh, cute! Was tough supposed to be spelled tuff? I think it was, just checking. Go kitties! How old is this kitty? My cat is twleve, and she still acts like the queen of Sheba.

I can relate to this. My dog used to think of me as a friend, my cat knows I'm her servant.
Cats have never got over being thought of as Gods by the Ancient Egyptians.

I'm a dog person, but I liked your poem alot. Dogs and cats are very nice companions and the love they give back is wonderful. Great write thanks, Anthony

Great poem. Reminds me of a kitten we once had. We called her mittens because with her six toes she looked like she was wearing funny mittens.

This an adorable write Jeniffer. I have three of those little rascals myself (had 4 but one got hit by a car). They all have unique personalities. Liked your rhyme scheme and your unique style. Very enjoyable. Take care and Have fun. Steve
