Letter To My Family (11-12-04)

  Letter To My Family (11-12-04)

My mother is back in Kent Community Hospital & Rehabilitation Center, as you may well already know. It's on Fuller just off 196. Her physical therapists have ordered a reclining chair on wheels for her so that when we visit, if she's up and in the chair, we can wheel her around and change her scenery for her.

They have also instructed all the nurses and nurse aids to ensure that they provide proper care INCLUDING brushing her hair and keeping chap stick on her lips. They've also instructed our family that if we notice ANYTHING not being tended to, we are to IMMEDIATELY notify the nurse in charge.

Finally, they've increased the amount of water/liquid they are giving her as she was not getting NEARLY enough before. She is stable now and her kidneys are
working for now. She had "acute drenal failure" and I guess that her kidneys could fail at any moment again. I don't know why and am waiting on word from the doctor. I have been researching medical stuff on the computer at lunch as I don't feel like just waiting around for the doctors to explain everything to me. I can't at really do much research at night because I go to school, Bible studies, etc... not to mention being a parent as well. :-)

I'm going to see her tonight and have some magazines to read to her and some music to play for her too. If I can keep from crying, I'm going to sing to her
because we always used to sing together. I'm thinking of taking guitar lessons too. She used to play and I think she'd like to hear me play... once I learn
how.

Well, that's the latest on my Mom. I'll fill you in on more come when there are any changes. Thank you for the continued support and ongoing prayers. The owner of my company wrote me this morning to tell me that he and his family are continually praying for my mother as well. The outpouring of emails, cards, and phone calls has been wonderful. Thank you again and take care of yourselves.

With love and appreciativeness,

BrytEyz
(Mary)

Hey girl, thanks for keeping tabs. :-)

Did you notice that I have put pictures on all the letters now? So, even the ones you've already read... you can go back and see pics I put there. I will never give up hope that she will return to us eventually, the same ole' Betty Boop that we always knew. I hope she can cook as good as the ole' Spaghetti Betty that she was too! Man! She was the best cook ever!

Well, thanks again for keeping tabs.

Take care,

BrytEyz

This place is MUCH better.
And you have to agree that they're treating your mother better than any of the other hospitals habe treated her before.
I still hope she'll get better and everything will be back to normal.
Paula
