Why do people show off?
Why are they so mean?
Usually they aren't as talented,
funny, friendly, or keen.

It gets me that they act perfect,
They get all the boys in class!
And why are they too good,
to take a simple band class?

One of these days I will get them back,
stepping on their pretty hair,
that will be the day,
when I give myself a scare!

I never want to be like them,
They wear too much pink,
do not get me wrong I like the color,
but their perfume really stinks!

I have to say I would rather be me,
because I have a better day,
weekend, month, and year!
At least I don't have to pretend to smile,
I will never look at you and sneer.

Sounds like those difficult competitive school days! It's funny, though, how adults do the same thing in their 30's and 40's, with their house, cars, and careers. Many of us just never grow up!
