Something for a child
Young, or not, in years
A song so very peaceful
To chase away our fears
A story told so gently
to tame what's surely real
Make-believing characters
that dance and play surreal
Once again, dear Stephen
The Washam's must be proud
That talent isn't quiet
But shouts your praises loud
Congratulations my poet friend
Once more for your achievement
Your words will be your legacy
Your death, the world's bereavement!
----------------
And have you read his poem "Ballbarrybaroo"?
Well, if you have not then shame, shame on you
It's written much like a great author Seuss
Without forcing, constricting, or hanging a noose!
(And my comments to his poem are as follows...)
----------------
Your Seuss-isms never cease
to amaze even me
I'm sure that they paint
your thoughts plain to see
The way that they rock
and roll back and forth
The way we can eat 'em
without spoon or a fork
How easily we see
what your pen wants us to
How graceful we dance
through a poem or two
Thank you, my dear
for this time once again
And for sharing your dreams
with me, a net friend!
