He slowly etched up to me on the park bench,
With chocolate smudged on both corner's of his mouth.
He looked at me seriously, then down, then stoicly ahead like an adult.
Then he said,"Sometimes I get real scared at night."
I replied,"Me to."
Then whispered,"So bad I wet my pants."
I replied,"Me to."
Even quieter he whispered,"What's the worst thing in the world to you?"
I replied."I dunno know."
He held my hand so tightly,
He said,"Not to be loved."
I replied,"Yes I know what you mean."
I picked him up, held him tight,
I said,"I love you so much."
With a smile ear to ear he ran off,
Giggling and laughing, he went.
