I Am A Marine!

  I Am A Marine!

I fight on distant battlefields
And I never surrender
I fight to protect the lives
Of many men, women, and children

All I have to hear from the Navy
Is... Send in the Marines!
I will be ready with steadfast courage
And let no enemy make me falter

With the bombs dropping
And the gunfire all around
I will take up my arms
To fight this evil foe

Never will I leave a fallen comrade
Never will I surrender to the enemy
Never will I abandon my post
Until death I stay true to my mission

If it's freedom I stand for
Then freedom I will protect
If it's my country I stand for
Then my country will I protect

In the grueling battles
And long restless days
I will fight long and hard
And come out victorious

I will stand above all
With my strength, courage, and honor
I am part of something great
I am a Marine!!!

I wrote this for my manager...Her name is Brittney...She has signed up for the marines and would not leave me alone until I wrote this for her...Me, I'm in the army...

great poem. It captures the way of a perfect marine. Infact your poem is for all in the service and would make them proud. I fight for country. I fight for freedom. You pay great respect to the marines but in your words you are paying respect to all our servicemen.

What a nice tribute for Brittney. I'm sure she enjoyed reading every line, Travis.

It's nice to know who you are and what you stand for, and it's nicer yet that you are able to write something so heartfelt for a friend no less. Friendship is a wonderful thing, is it not? So is peace. May God grant it world-wide.

This is very patriotic.
It's nice that you would write something like this for a friend.
I'm sure she loved it.
Keep up the good work.
