Mom is sooooo awake today! She's doing most of the talking and she's talking about old times and things she remembers about the past. She's talking about her plans for the future and wanted to know if I thought she'd ever dance again> Most certainly, I told her! And... she started singing today. It was sooo beautiful to listen to her sing. I think it was the fresh air and the change a scenery. See, They put her in a special chair (like a wheel chair but with a higher back and it looks like a recliner in a way.) We wheeled it down to the main lobby and as people entered through the sliding doors she could feel the breeze and smell the fresh air. She also felt sun on her skin for the first time and REALLY liked that a great deal.

I brought her some eggs with sautéed Portabella mushrooms in them, and some fried rice cooked in olive oil. Oh, and the eggs had garlic in them as well. She woofed it all down, AND ate everything the hospital brought for her breakfast (except the oatmeal) AND ate some of what Bob brought her too. She accidentally pulled her feeding tube out the other day and they were waiting until today for a calorie count (?) or something before deciding whether or not to have it put back in. Well, if this morning is any indication of what she's capable of... they won't be putting it back in!

She was brushing her hair by herself this morning and last night. It was such a sight for sore eyes. And when she was done drinking her orange juice at breakfast, she was able to take off the cover and make sure she drank every drop. I brought her some coffee with Amaretto flavored creamer. She closed her eyes and grinned from ear to ear when she took a sip. Yay! I did something right! :-)

Oh! And I sent a text message to a couple people this morning announcing that she was up and in her chair and saying how much she ate. Then Gene (my brother) text'd me back and said to tell Mom congratulations and to keep up the good work. Then he msg'd me again and said, "And tell her lover her vedy vedy much!" So, I showed her the phone's screen instead of reading it to her. She put on her glasses (yeah, she can do that by herself too now) and she read what Gene said out loud as she read it. (Please remember that last week she could not read when she tried.) We all sat there and grinned from ear to ear and were just so extremely pleased!

Just about the time I had to leave to get ready for my Sunday services, Bill, Brenda, and Bryce showed up. I told Mom that I didn't have to feel guilty about leaving then. Her reply? "Sure, I see how you are. Just up and leave the first chance you get and leave your poor helpless and defenseless mother to suffer all alone in the hospital by herself. I see how you are!" Heh! Yes! My mother is back in full force guys!!!

Well, I'm home for a brief bit and have to make a mad dash to catch up on housework before visiting Mom again later. I want to be up there when Grandma and Grandpa are there too. :-) They will be leaving for Illinois tomorrow morning.

Ingat (Take care)

I love that Portabella dish you prepared. Nice sentiments here.

The lord says ask and you shall recieve and I hope all the prayers for your mom are answered!
My heart has been with you and a lot of others too!
