The holiday season is turning me blue.
I'm so unhappy, I don't know what to do.
The cost of heating has gotten so much higher,
I'm considering lighting my house on fire.
There is snow always upon the ground,
its hard to drive my car around.
Bartenders on vacation, can't get a drink.
The worlds against me, I'm beginning to think.
People all a bustle and full of cheer.
My mother in law is coming to stay here!
The holiday season is turning me blue.
I am so unhappy I don't know what to do.
Can't wait to get my schedule back on track.
Closed for the holidays is a terrible fact.
My customers aren't buying until the new year.
My mortgage is due, repossessions a fear.
My relatives dislike me, we hardly communicate.
Yet I'm suppose to act like everything's great.
Make like I'm happy and give a present or two.
The holiday season is turning me blue.
I'm not in the mood, so give me a break
and please don't make me eat that fruit cake.
Why do I seem mad and not full of cheer?
Don't you remember, my MOTHER IN LAW's here!

I love the twist on the holiday season. Most people just mention the cold and that one person who's hard to shop for as their complaints, but managed several. Who would have thought, I guess you can turn a bad attitude into something constructive!
Currently, I'm in forensics and my theme is winter -do you mind if I recite yours? Credit where credit is due, of course. I'm headed to the district competition soon and I really want to avoid resorting to our good friend Poe.
I hope this is not the sentiment of your Christmas this year. But if you need a little cheering, just remember "The Man Who Would Be Santa" and perhaps that will put a smile on your face.
Lol. Another great write Anthony, I hope you can maintain that Christmas spirit with the mother in law on board. I feel for you. Take care and Have fun. Steve
