Tributary Times...
by Erick Phillips
copyright 09-07-2001

Age Rating: 18 to 127

As tributaries run downhill,
how far will you follow to see where it leads?
The ocean which fuels it and finishes it,
would like to know whether you consider it
important.

The final ten pages are the reason the journey is taken.
On this day of the pupa, expect butterflies
to wait for tomorrow,
as today will forever be the middle.
Right now is tentative.
Right now is half way.

Right now is comfortable, isn’t it?
I’ve a caterpillar mentality
and I expect greater things will happen.
I’ll enjoy, for now, this tributary;
yet I’ll recognize the fact that
what fuels it,
will empty it.
