Poor Man's Soup
by Andrew Findlay (Age: 37)
copyright 12-12-2004

Age Rating: 10 to 127

This entire recipe should about $3 to make and it serves 3-4. This can be done on the stove or in the microwave.

Do not preheat the water.
-In the empty pot, add 2 packs of Ramen noodles-you know the kind, they sell for about 25 cents a pack. Break up the noodles, still leaving it in fairly large chunks.Add the flavor packets that come with the noodles into the pot.
-Add one can of Cheap Tuna, do not drain the juice, the juice goes in the soup-about a dollar or so
-Add one can of mixed beans-not the baked kind. The right kind comes with the beans in water in the can usually, do not drain the water, add the water from the can to the soup-about a dollar
-Add a cheap can of mushrooms along with the liquid that comes in the can-about 50 cents or so
-Cut up one large onion and place it in the pot
-optional-I like to add several cloves of garlic, but this is up to individual taste.
-Add just enough water to the mixture of stuff to just slightly more than cover it.

Cook your fabulous soup until it comes to a boil. It is important to remove it from the heat as soon as it starts to boil. If you let it cook too long the noodles will become soggy.
Allow it to cool for a couple of minutes and add salt and pepper to taste.
Serve and enjoy!

I actually eat this all the time, being on a limited food budget due to my low paying job. It tastes great, and is very nutritious.

If you're under the age of 14, please get an adult to help you with this as boiling water can be very dangerous.

Wow, I haven't thought of that kind of mixture... It really sounds interesting, I'll probably try it later. Well, you learn something new everyday right?

Anyway, thanks for the recipe.

I like the Ramon noodles, I eat them all the time. I'm not really a fan of onions or mushrooms, but I am a fan of garlic. I might try it if I know how to make it where it's not so thick.

This one sounds interesting. I buy the roman noodles all the time and I already have everything you listed so maybe I'll try it soon.
