Paula's Column
Chapter 1
by Paula T. (Age: 15)
copyright 12-16-2004

Age Rating: 7 to 127

Guess what's sweeping the nation these days?
Never mind, you'll never guess. So I'll just tell you.
Suicide.
What is wrong with teens these days?
Failed my algebra test. Guess I'll have to kill myself.
I mean, does that sound twisted or what?
So, if you're a teen, and you want to kill yourself, DON'T DO IT!
Need a friend, someone to talk to, talk to me!
I'll understand, I care, in fact I once felt so rotten I almost did it, too.
It's okay to feel like nobody cares, but it's a lie!!!!!
I care about each and every one of you!
We all go through it.
Just don't be the weirdo who does it.
Remember. Paula

Hey Paula.
This is so true. There are kids that scream at the teacher when they get a test that has a failing grade on it. I mean, you put that on yourself. This was a really important column. I will talk to you if I have any problems. Talk to you later.

Paula,

I appreciate the sentiment behind this post, because a life is a terrible thing to waste, BUT I think that you need to be careful when referring to people as "weirdos". You never know who you might accidently be insulting. Someone's relative might have commited suicide, and I don't think that they'd appreciate the adjective. ^^;

However, it is very sweet of you to offer up yourself as someone to talk to. I think that people could find comfort in talking to you, because you're a sweet person with a big heart.

Okay, I'm kept this to myself awhile now, but I can't keep it in any longer. And it's just stupid to even thing that someone would kill them self over one failed test. People commit suicide when they fail a grade, have parents on the brink of divorce, get sexually involved, do drugs and are cough, and thanks like that. I know why people commit suicide. Because I've wanted to.

Paula's column is very nice and you cover so many things. Keep up the good work, Anthony

This is a pretty good idea. It's like gossip and news all rolled into one. And the way you write it makes it fun.

This is quite cute. I love the suicide chat thing.

And all the books you recommended are awesome. (Personally I've read most of them)

Can't wait to read the rest of the column.

this entry completely SUCKS!!!!!!
I know, this is not at all what my entries are like.
don't judge the rest of the column by this thing.
read the other chapters, it gets much better.
