Christmas is a time to reflect
The joyous time has come again to change
To transform yourself
To better yourself
For the hope of mankind?
Or to gain more presents?
With the clock slowly passing
The weather steadily going colder
The people walking carefully down icy roads
Trying not to faulter
The memories of sad times seem to fade
As children voices raise to high-heaven
And shower down
In each small flake
Time to notice
The things you haven't before
How quickly time passes
The homeless man
You've never seen before
Other days you'd pass him
And sneer as you walk away
You decide to give him money
Because Christmas is almost today
The smell in the air is crisp
The wind makes you shiver
But the smells of cookies and cinnamon make you warm
And in the distance
A million smiling faces
To welcome you home.
