I’ve fought you tooth and nail, that is until now
And though I shake with fear, I have to face you
Love always hurts, or that’s what I used to think
So I kept you at a distance, I never let you close
I avoided you at every chance, but you wouldn’t stop
I ran without direction, I had to get away from you
But you never gave up on me, you looked beyond my cold eyes
Now I have nowhere to go, I have no choice but to see you
So with dirt stained cheeks and a cold body, I fell into you
And you picked me up, just in time to catch my tears

Ahhh....it feels so good to read some work my the master! When I read "Sea of the Lost" and so many of your other great titles, that's what inspired me to start writing dark poetry. It's been awhile since I've read any of your work, and I'm really glad that I decided to. Another master piece matched up with the perfectly fitting picture. And almost everybody can relate to the message you're sending out in this piece. The flow and descriptions make this great poem ever more wonderful as usual. Keep up that amazing work!
May the divine darkness be with you,
Leigh of the Commenting Crusaders
This is a very good piece of poetry that I think a lot of people could relate to... And I'm sure that oh so special person will be there to catch you when you fall :)
Don't know if this will make sense but...
your poem depicts what I have been living for more than 20 years.
Still, she will not come close.
I wait.
And hope.
Thank you for having put into words this very strong feeling. I love her so much, I'll forever wait.
Great write. I'm not Christian either, sometimes you have to stop looking to the sky and start looking around you for the help you need at the moment that will come now and not when it's too late. I love this work.
I know at one time you told me that you were not a Christian, but it is amazing how much this poem (perhaps without you realizing it) describes the way God loves us and never gives up on us.
I really enjoyed this one.
This is good one typo though. in the seventh line,"But you never gave up ( one ) me, I think you ment, (on ). Nice use of words, I like it! Thanks, Anthony
