The pain becomes reality
All around me it’s all I see
I keep my thoughts deep inside
In you I now confide
At the altar where I now kneel
I pray this dream can’t be real
Almost time for the final blast
I’ve found a friend at long last
Before I take my last breath
I kiss this friend on the lips
Seconds go by that seem like hours
The pain I feel now devours
As I lie here dying
I finally feel like crying
But there are no tears to be found
As my body lies on the ground
And as I bleed my last breath
I wish I hadn’t chosen this death
(I wrote this to change the mind of a friend who said he was going to commit suicide. He is still with us.)

Suicide is really the coward's way out, and I am glad your efforts saved a life. That means you're a hero! :-)
I wrote about it twice... once in the poem GREEN at http://www.prose-n-poetry.com/display_work/419 and once in the poem called TURN DOWN THE SUN at http://www.prose-n-poetry.com/display_work/13712. The first is fictional, but the second was completely true. It's about when my husband and I were split up and he tried to commit suicide. Of course, I'd LOVE to know what you think about them! *cheesy grin*
