You looked at me curiously
Then you began to cry
Explaining there was no way
You could keep them all alive
Slowly each rose wilted
Petals fell to the floor
As each one perished
You cried even more
Questioning my love for you
You begged me not to go
So I told you to look closer
At that very last rose
Untarnished by time
Its color still bright red
As a symbol of my undying love
A silk rose still stood
Just to say I love you
To say forever in a special way
I bought you a dozen roses
And will love you till the last one dies

This is the best one I've read yet today! And I knew you were a romantic...but this beats them all! It reminds me of what my boss did once. He bought 11 red roses, and one white one that stood an inch taller than the rest. He wrote, "To My Wife To Be... who's a cut above the rest!" The white indicated her innocence and purity and REALLY stood out among the red ones. It was so cool. I'll have to tell him about your idea here. He'll love it! :-)
I have always wished that my husband had a romantic side. IF I could choose a poem that I would want him to write for me it would be like this! Great job... Sarah
