Gratitude As An Attitude
by Tracey B.
copyright 05-10-2001

Age Rating: 18 to 127

Gratitude. It is one of the greatest gifts that we can give to both ourselves, and others. One of the greatest gifts, we have been given. Just as laughter and humor, lift our spirits and our hearts, so does gratitude. Through gratitude we are able to realize, marvel and be thankful for the miraculous gift of life, we have been given, and for the people and things that we share it with.

Gratitude is a remarkable buoyant while floating, swimming, and sometimes sinking, through the seas of life, and the endless depth of emotions. It is the helpful friend in a quest for physical, mental and spiritual health. Smoothing even the rockiest of roads. Gracing our relationships, and our communion with God. Filling us with a zest for life, and love for living.

Through gratitude we become more aware of our surroundings. By appreciating each gift we are graced with, we find ourselves uplifted, and continually noticing more... This snowball effect enhances our energy, at times we can be overflowing with love.

It is hard when writhing in the midst of pain and confusion, to feel gratitude for anything. Noticing a tiny ray of light though, can sometimes seem like the sun itself. Gratitude gently nudges you to learn from your mistakes, as opposed to solely regretting them. Turning any negative experiences, into positive ones.

Gratitude can also be a wonderful gift to others. Those that we are grateful for, and to, are blessed with the light and knowledge that they have touched our lives, that they matter, and that they, as we, are not alone.

By taking just a moment each day to reflect, perhaps to write down, the things that we are grateful for. We give ourselves the opportunity to ascend and nurture our spirits, our soul, our relationships, and our connection with God.

How easy this is, and with such great rewards..
