Paula's Column
Chapter 3
by Paula T. (Age: 15)
copyright 01-09-2005

Age Rating: 1 to 127

AAAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!
If you wonder what's making me so angry and frustated, read on.

Paula's schedule :

Monday: study frantically for Biology Midterm on Tuesday.
Tuesday: skip school in order to miss Biology Midterm. I wish. Study madder than mad for Spanish vocabulary midterm ( If I die young, please let it be before I get the results for my Spanish midterm. Actually, scratch that, I want to live every extra second I have)
Wednesday: Study for Spanish vocabulary midterm madder than the previous day. I am sure my photographic memory will work against me, especially the fact that I never put the accent marks on.
Thursday: fake amnesia, bronchitis, and all other diseases that do not result in death. If that does not work and I am force to attend Stalage 239 (don't ask) fake emotional breakdown in which you have to spend the next two weeks in ( no, make it three, in order to miss make-ups) a mentality ward attended by crazy psychos to who nice ladies serve punch and cookies (into which I hear they sprinkle your pills) through metal bars. Oh!!! Also, study for S.S. midterm. (I got into honors for looking at the teacher and nodding in all the right places)
Friday: If all works out as planned, spend day in mental ward. If not, and in home sick with amnesia, bronchitis, and all those other thingies, go me!!!
(Maybe I do have a chance at that drama scholarship)
If not, fake emotional breakdown when you are about to take the test.
Saturday : Study like mad
Sunday : Study like mad
Monday : Study like mad. ( thank god for three-day weekends!!!! Bless Martin Luther King Jr. These are made for young scholars cramming for midterms!!!)
Tuesday : spend day either in the mentality ward, sick in bed, or have emotional breakdown when about to be handed Spanish midterm.Study for Science midterm.
Wednesday : spend day either in the mentality ward, sick in bed, or have emotional breakdown when about to be handed Science midterm. Study for Math midterm.
Thursday : spend day either in the mentality ward, sick in bed, or have emotional breakdown when about to be handed Math midterm.Study for English midterm.
Friday : spend day either in the mentality ward, sick in bed, or have emotional breakdown when about to be handed English midterm.

***** Hope that results will be recieved when you're a foreign exchange student in Germany, where they take their midterms a week eariler and are given results a week before you get there, where they expect you to have gotten yours already.

***** If this doesn't work out as planned, I hope you cherished me while I was still alive.

***** Any recieved results you will recieve, unless they are below 80's, in which case I will not be in this world.

This si the best one yet. The way you write is truly wonderful. It is written in such a free and natural way that the reader wants more! I wish I had read these sooner, but there's so much to read at PnP, that sometimes hidden treasures like this column is lost in the mist.

Well Paula T, I'm very impressed. Good chatty write.
Age 11? I realise that it's permisable for ladies to fudge on the age thing. But you sound more like 11 going on 21.
Whatever, I enjoyed your chat.
Thanks, Brian.

Lol! Paula I love you're column! It's so full of energy, I feel like I'm actually talking to you in person! And trust me... I feel you're pain on the whole midterm thing. I'm heading through my senior year in high school and granted I only have three classes at the moment ( one of which is Student council so it really doesn't count...)but the assignments I have due are crazy. Right now I'm working on three essays I have to turn in today for my government class, and I have another essay on the play Dr. Faustus to turn in next week. *cries* So much stress! And I have to plan out a lesson for my girls for Scouts tomorrow night (I'm a Girl Scout leader now btw!) and then I have to check back on a few job applications I turned in last week.... there's even more but I'm sure you get the idea! Well, good luck with your scholastic endeavors and don't die! I'm sure you'll make it through with flying colors!

~Steffie~

ps- I can't wait for your next post!
