Okay. This technically is not 'stories help.' Want to spruce up and liven your profile on PnP but don't know how? Here's the resource to learn it! The result of my profile is due to a handy ole thing called HTML. HTML are encrypted codes used on web sites. They are responsible for the fonts, colors, and graphics you see.
Grahpics?
There are numerous amounts of places to find graphics. The best way to do it is to do an image search on yahoo or google. Or, simply make your own! That will be in a different help article though. Find your image then, get the exact URL for it. For instance, clicking on the image should bring you a screen with the image, the address at the top should be your URL. Ex. http://pnprules.com/images/duck.jpg
Use the code and put that in your profile!
The codes for text colors, other cool add ons, and more can be found here. You can also find the codes for links.
HTML and graphic design are things I have been doing for years. I know them very well, so if you need help contact me!
This is Part 1 of a large tutorial section I will be doing on how to enhance your profile! Keep checking back for new articles.
Help Us Stop Plagiarism -
Nearly all works at PnP are original. However a few people choose to plagiarize.
To check, choose a phrase from the work, then either drag and drop to the search box or copy and paste.
click on search and works at Google will be shown which match. Just to be sure, please do this before
you recommend or rate the work highly...
I think that this is a great article to help people spiffy up their profile, however, there is a slight issue with the way that you described to put an image up.
When you directly take the url of a site and put it in an HTML code, you use that person's bandwidth. Most websites have a limited number of bandwidth so when a lot of people do this, which is called "direct linking", it can cause problems.
To do the image thing you're describing legally, right click on the image that you want and click "save as". Then use a photo hosting site, like photobucket.com to upload the image too. From there, you can simply copy the URL under each image and use it in the same way.
