Pray for Mankind

  Pray for Mankind

I stand here, on the top of this mountain.
I stand here, to proclaim your essence.
For those who are at the bottom of the mountain continue to be blinded.
They continue to be desolate of character and impervious in their greed.

I stand here, on the top of this mountain.
I stand here, to plead for my fellow man.
For we do not understand and continue to err.
Man cannot see what lies around the bend.
Man doesn't understand your language,
Lest man would’ve been by my side.

I looked down and no one followed.
I looked down and everyone is asunder.
They're inebriated with the grapes of their vineyards.
They are complaisant with the fruits of their labor

Who shall stand when the sky opens?
And who shall stand the heat of your anger?
For we are of sin and thus are blinded.
Blinded to the sight of the new morning.

We were once foretold! We were privileged with sight!
But we’ve forgotten the way of the road.
And now are lost in the storm of the night.
Forgive us father, for we are still ignorant.

Apocalyptic, WOW! I got caught up in the very act of reading this almost to the point of having this ominus feeling. This is a good day to post this, I won't need to go to sacrament for a month (wink) wonderful job!

A lot of yearning in your poetry. I see it soaring like a Gothic cathedral!

Ah yes the ignorance of man? Is it truely ignorance or a choice? So many of us depend upon the walls we build within our minds and stand so firm in their quest to keep it standing. I will continue to have faith in a hope of love, God is Grand.
