GeeBee The Rooster

GeeBee the rooster, the king of the ‘run’,
surveying his chickens from his ‘coop’ on the hill,
not content with the flock that is in his command,
and envious of roosters who have flocks of their own.

He decides that his barnyard is not big enough,
that he should control all those ‘runs’ near and far,
so he sends out his fighting-cocks to take what’s not his,
now his barnyard seems larger and he thinks he has won.

Instead of having peace in the coop and the barnyard,
and enjoying his position as king of the 'run',
he is on the defensive and though he’s not wanted,
pretends that all chickens are in his control.

Other roosters strike back with their own fighting-cocks,
and now the whole barnyard is on the alert,
and the peace of all chickens is in jeopardy,
because of one rooster who would have his own way.
