To Love?

Born in the essence of Your breathe,
Given a borrowed moment to return our Creators’ gift.
Can one continue on in egocentric contempt?
Defying Your glory played in free will.
Give back!
This devotion so true, blazing on through this fabric called time.
One needs only to look around, hear it with their own ears, grasp it in hand,
Smell its dreadful stench or taste the selfishness poured from this glass of life.
What gives us all such stature to stand with unbearable spirits of strife?
Can we go on holding back our Hope for a Faith in Love?

Incredibly powerful Jack with such erudite questions for one to ponder...truly the only answer is to dedicate one's life to God...but it is so hard to do what is right...Great poetry here and tremendous impact my friend.
We rush to be successful, but what is sucessful!
We are a sucess for living and praise to the Lord should be given first and always. Yet in our rush to achieve, we digress to what is prevalent. Good write. Thanks, Anthony
A strongly emotive poem that causes the reader to pause and think for just a moment about their own lives. Well done free verse with a nice flow and story line.
