Demons
by Roger Crique (Age: 51)
copyright 07-11-2005

Age Rating: 13 to 127

Demons are loose;
they're filtering in the mind of the unsuspecting.
There are demons here;
powerful and witty, filthy and devastating.

They hide in the flesh of the unbalanced.
In the flesh they hide, of those who let their thoughts wander. They subsist in the eyes of those who vacillate, for they know the way of the darkened in thought.

Demons are here; they fly not at night, but in the hours of the rising sun. They hover in the hearts of those who mutilate.
They coexist with those who know no pity.

A thousand years it's not a very long time.
The chains are broken now.
And they are out to wreak havoc on mankind.
They are out to fulfill the word.

Can you see them? Can you feel them?
When you sleep at night, do they talk to you?
In the darkness of your habitat, do you feel their presence? Can you feel their cold breath upon your nape?

Many people feel their heaviness.
Many neighbors mirror the demons' rage.
For holy men that fondle the young are no exception.
And fanatics who butcher the innocent have no excuse.

A gracious and merciful God will not ask for sacrifices. An omnipotent Lord will not ask his children for blood. Demons will alter the perception of the naïve. And demons will inevitably reign in the hearts of the exalted.

Take heed, for the stench of the dead raises in the midday sun. Take notice, for the blood of the innocent will flow like rivers. Prepare yourself, for your disbelief will be your dagger.
And your ignorance will be your doom.

he asked for innocent blood once before. Why wouldn't he ask for it again. he like the smell of innocent blood burning it is a sweet aroma to his senses. He likes it, why, I am afraid of the Lord Almighty, but why does he require blood sacrifices, he really does like it can't you tell? But good job

Thank you for making me aware of your poem. That was very well written! I did like it very much. And everything in it makes total sense. It's scary but true.
