Homeward will I go
Through freedom's open door
To my love once more.
Light illuminates
Reaches corners dark and dank.
Where truth was hidden
Secrets die today
With illuminating truth
Open prison doors.
Truth shall be my light
I travail through blackest night
Until I reach home.
Strength awaits me there
For our home is where you are
With your loving heart.

"This is my first attempt at the 5-7-5 type of poetry. Have no idea if it is good, bad,or indifferent but it does have the 5-7-5 form."
