Death Least We Forget
by Walter Jones (Age: 63)

Age Rating: 10 to 127

Took them to the death camps below
Heard them scream and died
Who was to lie
which was to die
tried to see
burned

Across the land few understand
excuse to some thing called man
all can relate to death
but to life
why

War over pure find
genocide
human
cried

Took them to the death camps below
heard them scream and died
who was to lie
which was to die
tried to see
burned

Where is the rock to stand
who learned
war to end
still they cry
die die

Man
no excuse
lives

This does allude to the aspect of life which is an inevitable part of the process called man.
I find the aspects which we unfortunately call good and bad harmonizing in this process called man.
A poet's imagery is definitely able to reach the heights where a layman can never aspire to be.
Well done, Sir
Bless you

Wow....a powerful...gripping write. Your words are so powerful and bring back what it was like. What a horrible...terrible thing...the holocaust. Wow...can you imagine what man can do to fellow man? Its awful.
Good write...a painful gripping write. Good work!

A writer's job, seemingly, is to not only portray the beauty which man creates, but unfortunately, because it exists, the evil, also.

This work makes me wonder if there is any true beauty that isn't tainted by evil.

This is indeed a powerful piece. First let me say I looked at the whole before reading a word. The symmetry of the stanzas is perhaps symbolic of something, not sure, but seems to add a haunting element. The holocaust was one of the darkest times in history. My own ancestry (Armenian) suffered similar, attempted genocide. I have heard many harrowing stories of it. Thank you for this very well-written yet sad reminder. My optimism, however, refuses to succumb to the evil in man, for I see much charity as well.................June
