In Vitro Fertilization
by James Shammas (Age: 44)
copyright 02-02-2005

Age Rating: 10 to 127

-- to our friends at Saint Barnabas and Mount Sinai

Floating in this bubbling brine;
Sifting through the plankton;
Picking at the brimming stars,
One pointed pipette--

Pointed from one omnipotent hand--
Ended and thawed an ice-age,
Melting as our warming morning
Tumbling tears: for three months hence

Blooms a flower--
A fetus--
Her rolling ocean womb
A chorus of hiccups and kicks;

Born of doctors and nurses,
Family and friends,
Generations of thinkers,
And those who taught them:

All, too, are born, die,
Join the Dance of Matisse,
Singing Beethoven's Ninth. All
Fall back to the formless sea.

Nice write. I hope it worked. I dont know how to comment except for say nice write. Children for me are out of the question. I guess I'm just getting to set in my way, single, and have enough of them around me to pasify my need. Plus, I've had to many issues growing up to be able to have them.
