Thought You'd Try to Stop Us
by Delaney Lindley (Age: 19)
copyright 01-31-2005

Age Rating: 13 to 127

Days were hard, life went fast
Times when we were young
But now we're angry, morbid teens
This is OUR year and it's finally come

Taking back the lives
We thought we lost for good
Thought you'd try to stop us
But we know you never could

Spending years in the limelight
We were always what to watch out for
This one's gothic, that one's bulimic
We were always the problem you couldn't ignore
We get blamed for everything
From pollution to global warming
The problems you just can't seem to forget
Well forget the world ,Forget the ozone
WE CAN'T DRIVE YET!
These are the days you can't forget
Days you can't forget

Taking back the lives
We thought we lost for good
Thought you'd try to stop us
But we know you never could

Taking back the life
We thought we lost for good
Thought you'd try to stop us
But you know you never could

Broke the barriers
For places we couldn't go
We were stuck in here, today
We're taking back tomorrow
Taking back tomorrow.

Got angry about a woman I saw on tv saying the children and today's youth was to blame for everything.

Wow, what a rant! I love it.
This is a rather inspiring piece.
It makes you think, and I think it should be a song.
Keep up the good work.

Like you caused the holes in the ozone layers. Very funny. Your flow is week in a few spots, but the humor made up for it! Thanks, Anthony

I too would have gotten angry, Delaney, at what that woman said. Our generation is that which has the responsibility of cleaning up the environment and worldly problems, though there is no one generation or even country to blame for it all. We need to do everything in our power, within reason that is. If its legal, go for it. :-)
