How do I love you?

by Toni Sweeney (Age: 25)

This poem was an English assignment I had to do. I had to write a sonnet that started with the lines How do I love you?

How do I love you? What can I say?

I love you in so many ways, I donīt know what to say.

I love the way you seem smile, even when your sad,I

love the way you popped the balloons when you were mad

I love the way you whine & cried when I left every day

I love the way you cheer me up when I cry, or even try

I loved the softness of your skin through the years

you always came when I called, even when you were

eating a bug, you use to run, but you always came back

except when you took one last breath,

Oh how I cried I loved you so much

but you just had to run after that truck

I have a new puppy I'm happy again

but I will love you forever, even till the end

This was a very nicely written poem with a sweet sentiment. It's nice to see you were able to make so much out of an English assignment! Good work; my only suggestion is that you might and to glance over the grammar sometime, since there are a few places that could use commas or spaces.

I thought it would be a little angsty, but I was wrong. It was very sweet and charming. A story about a love for a puppy? Awwww. I love it.
I can't see any mistakes in it, you did a great job. =D If I have a prompt, it normally comes out like crap. xD

I add to the list of reminders...reminds me of Luna who jumped after a car and rusty who just died of old age i love them both so much and its so unfair when they go the wrong way good poem and a good tribute to the one you love keep it up. the only thing i see wrong was the word balloons you spelt it wrong but most probably a type happens to me all the time with those damn double letters and stuff lol keep it up

Your poems light up my life.
This one reminded me fondly of my dog Pepper (see "Pepper" in my book "Echoing Footprints).
I loved that fuzzy black cocker spaniel as dearly as I could love anything and anybody.

Thanks for reminding me of her.

Most fondly,

Rich

Yeah, Anglea, Love is great. But of course, it is only a surge of this drug called pheny- something in the brain. Eventually we come to tolerate it, like all drugs. Know what book that info is from?

very sweet and so true, my cat just had kitten and they keep running into the street and getting killed so I had to take the rest to the SPCA, anyway, I still have my cat though and I yell at her all the time to stay out of the road, she is half wild and I can't make her, I will be sad when she dies, however she dies but I don't want to have to scrape her off the side of the road like I did her babies, I think she smells them it is really sad, but that is life and it will go on great write one typo

A bitter sweet poem of the saddness one feels when they lose a beloved pet.I will never forget experiencing that as a child.
You have described your late pup and honoured his memory with such niceness.
Thankyou
