  Memory

What can you see?
You may be able to see the colors of the rainbow,
Or you might not be able to.

But can you see,
The pain that I have in my eyes?

What can you feel?
You may be able to feel as you like,
Or you might not be able to.

But can you feel,
The sadness in me?

What can you smell?
You may be able to smell a lovely flower,
Or you might not be able to.

But can the smell,
The lonelyness in the air,
all around me?

What can you hear?
You may be able to hear the beautiful sound of a canary,
Or you might not be able to.

But can you hear,
The hopelessness,
In my voice?

What can you do?
Can you do anything you want?

Your hands can make many memories.
All you have to do is reach out,
And touch me.

All you have to do is comfort me.
From there on I will finally laugh,
All signs of sadness gone.

Your memory is,
A precious gift to me.
Without you,
I may have never felt joy.

Hold onto your memories of me,
And I will do the same.
Because in my heart is a memory,
and there you will always,
always be.

Beautiful poem! Forgive my old comment..it was before my days as a Commenting Crusader, now it sickens me to see a one line comment with my name above it. This is a beautiful poem, and tells a story we all know well, but do not always chose to tell. The flow is wonderful ,and the picture is also a nice touch. I can tell you truly care about your friends, and I hope you'll all be together again someday soon. Error alert: lonelyness = loneliness, you should capitalize each line, and add a few commas. Only minor errors we all make. You've left your mark on PnP, and though I've never seen you in reality I hope you can think of me as a friend.

This is a pretty deep poem, not only for an 11 year old, but for anyone. As you get older and have more life experiences, your poetry can only get better and better.
