My heartstrings the ones so loosely strung
so they will not give in to the slightest tug
but onething still makes me cry
the sound of that sweet song "The dog and the butterfly"
Oh the memories of my tears bestrewn
When my mom would plays this lovely tune
Now I play it and stare at my ceiling at night
The only thing that shows my tear is the dim night light
My mom isn't here to hold me or pat my back
I have to be strong now no matter what I lack
I have to swallow my tears and only cry in the dark
And when "The dog and the butterfly" is played by Heart.

The Dog and The Butterfly is one of my favorites. Heart had so many good songs. Your poem is sad and I am sorry that your mom is not there for you now. Looks like she had a good effect on you and she is proubly very proud of who you have become. Your values seem to be very good and I hope you stay true to them. Thanks, Anthony
This is a really good poem. I never heard of "The dog and the butterfly". Is it like a song that was only shared by you and your mother? It is very full of spirited emotion. Great job!
