  March Seventeenth

At sixteen, Maewyn was a pagan,
Irish Marauders sold him as a slave.
Escaping after six long years,
he traveled to Gaul, to be saved.

Twelve years studying under St. Germain,
he received his calling from God, To be
the converter of the Irish pagan,
called to bring them to Christianity.

He adopted the name of Patrick.
Appointed Second Bishop of Ireland.
He was known for using the shamrock,
To help the pagan to understand.

You see the three leafs of the shamrock.
Explain The Holy Trinity like this,
belief in The Father, Son and Holy Spirit,
a main part of how Christianity exist.

His mission lasted for thirty years
and when he died the Irish did say.
Every Year on March seventeenth
is a celebration of St. Patrick's Day!

*chuckles* This was sweet. I have never heard the stories of Saint Patrick before, but none the less it was very cute. Well hope to see ya around.

Heh... never heard it put quite this way. :-) Thanks for sharing it... as always.

People celebrate many things I don't. I don't begrudge them their celebration, I only wish they'd let live and let live. I really don't like the pinching thing for those who don't wear green. Ever hear where that came from? I'd like to know if you have.

Thanks Anthony

I didn't know that much about him either and I'm half Irish!

Thanks for the history lesson. Since I am neither Irish nor Catholic, I've never really read or learned anything about St. Patrick. This reads easily and I now know more than I did yesterday.

thanks,
David Pekrul
