The 'wind in the willows'
Is not what this is,
With fury and passion,
Destruction here lives.

It blows from above
And blows from beyond,
And blows until all
That we have is gone.

All that we've worked for and all that we have,
Is gone in the blink of an eye,
So we must have courage and never give in,
We will make it, if only we try.

'Round and 'round
And 'round it goes,
And where it will stop,
Well, no one can know.

The trees are uprooted,
The roof all but gone,
We hide in the cellar,
And hear the strange song.

There once was a time when life was so good,
And this was the best place to be,
The sun always shone and the air was so warm,
And a light breeze did drift through the trees.

Now we pray that our loved ones
Are hiding somewhere,
We cradle our children
Because they are scared.

And when it is over
We look everywhere,
It seems we are left
With the clothes we wear.

A moment ago we had a fine home,
With everything there in its place,
And then in an instant our whole world has changed,
We see naught but a large empty space.

We search through the rubble
For most of the day,
And then we are told
There's more wind on the way.

Our strength is ne'er gone,
And we're getting discouraged,
We feel beaten down,
And we're losing our courage.

We know that one day our lives will resume,
Let's cherish each day that is new,
And try to find comfort by helping our friends,
And thank God that we all made it through.

You forgot to mention the terror, death, sounds, sceams, tears, and hidden emotions. And During the storm you feel like there in no tomorrow. And you are terrorrfied for you family and pets. And the souless shell feeling after the storm. Not all regain there emotione after that. I was a lucky one I guese.

It feels as though you are in the hurricane. Winds and fear, yet strentgh and courage because you are together. There is hope because God is with you. I like your poem very much. It has such great feeling. It seems a hurricane is not much different than surviving a tornado. Only differences is in a tornado there isn't so much water. The angry wind, the fear and holding together is the same.

I felt the fear. Nature is truly awesome. It shows us how small we really are but as you say in the poem people build again pulling together.

We wish for so many things and question why we have not been given our wish. Yet every day the sun comes up, there is water to drink, air to breath(except if you live in Los Angeles) And life goes on. We should never forget that what he gives he can take away with just a little wind! Great write as usuall. Thanks, Anthony
