See Me

Eyes lift to the sky
in shadow cast
the cross haunts
my view

Feel My Spirit

Birth of religion falls
in the giving of death
life's cost is you

Try as I might

Prayer falls short
with the man
at each turn
world weight
of sin descends heavy

Trying to understand the why

Lord why was it needed
understanding 'will'
good to evil death

Shallow grave screams at my spirit again

Gift greatest
lay your life down
for another man
die confess
(walk through hell as man return as God)

Picture floods my mind of Him On Cross

Heart aches in side the body
trembling in fear and pain
as I walk your last steps

Just cannot understand this

Reason escapes me
to time filled
with fear of power lost
Man oh foolish man
takes the pride
and saving grace
what a terrible cost

After all He went through still more is required

Cruel is the view
of love versus revenge
three in one all in host
hurt so much hurt

Cryptic old book text in many versions

Time placed in progression
of the child burns
deep question
unanswered still

Nature kicks me hard a man looking beyond

Wind and rain
slap against my skin
fear of worlds
left open
yet to come

Image of God I am use of power given hurts

Mind the gift given
gathers information
dispenses in huge painful
recognition as a failure I am

This is it power to sort out come up short

Last stop
a falling dream
destroyed and controlled
by self reach
Burden carried
by yet another
outside force
of wind and rain

Shame in who I am and where I came from

Face hidden for forever
cast open in silver
laid hanging ghost

Clearing heavy curtain I see candle light

Where is the line
which was the God
which is the man
who am I or have become

Tomb is borrowed out waiting for me

A piece is missing
stone turned empty
waiting a return for better
use

Each value questioned in daily evaluation

Ripped in history
given ride
the wind of sin
and self destruction
weighted

God a man accepting my loss

Strength of spirit
weak of body leaving
each part of life
lived in vain

I see him there taking my lashes

Questions do not change
all ride in the reflection
of distribution of pain

This fate I have earned for what truth

Will and cast rides
the age of time
placed in view
of a child who died

Nothing I can do changes the outcome past so much hurt

Pounding my breast
gives me no recourse
or resolve only
weary pride

As God's child I am special but sorry so sorry

Glory lives in me
because of why
early on picked
above all evil
lied

Blood stained ragged and reaching

Grace steps forward
as I wait
in remembrance
of a salvation
yet to come

You are definitly true to your word. This is very thought provoking. While the title here is rented space, it was paid with blood money. You make the reader look for their own ideas about religion, we have a guide in the bible, yet belief is in the mind and soul. What are we here for and why? Good write, Anthony
