  A Child Is A Wonder

A child is a wonder,
A gift from above,
And all that he needs
Is protection and love.

A little attention,
A love that is pure,
And he will grow up
To be strong and secure.

It seems very simple,
And so it should be,
But some are neglected,
They’ll never be free,

To be little children,
To laugh and to play,
They’ll always have worry,
All night and all day.

If you see a child,
Who looks all alone,
Who needs some encouragement,
Who gets none at home,

Then take it upon you,
To do what is right,
To mentor this child,
And take up the fight.

Then you will find blessings,
The child will find peace,
Your time will have meaning,
And your life a new lease.

A child is a wonder captures the child prefectly. A child is love and not only needs lots of love but oh he gives so much back. I like your picture of the little girl with the deer.

Your syntax and diction fit so nicely with the theme of the innocence and playfulness of children. I don't like to quote scripture, but I think it says somewhere, "Be like children, and you will enter the kingdom of heaven."

We search our whole lives for meaning, what are we here for and why, maybe we are here to learn and teach. Children need to know that they are loved and we can do this for more than just our own children. Good write David as always. Thanks, Anthony
