One Of The Lucky Ones
by David Pekrul
copyright 04-08-2005

Age Rating: 10 to 127

I guess I’m one of the lucky ones,
growing up in a family of love,
made to attend church on a regular basis,
not liking it all the time,
but now knowing that this helped
to mold my future, and I am grateful.

Married to a girl who is like an angel,
and I don’t know what I’d do without her.
It’s been thirty-three years now,
and I’m still in love.

Raised two kids who never gave me much trouble,
now responsible adults with lives of their own,
but they’re still my kids,
and like a father I always worry.
Are they eating okay?
Are they happy?
you know, all that ‘father stuff’.

Life is good;
I am blessed.

Life is good...and it's apparently been good to you! Congratulations, and even more so that you've been blessed enough to appreciate your many blessings.

A good parent will always worry about their children. Even when we know that they have a good base and have learned what has been taught, we worry that they may falter. This is a parents insecurity, I am sure that you have given them all you can. They will make mistakes, but Christ gave his earthly life so that they could be forgiven. You are a good man, or at least that is what I have taken from your writings and I am sure your children have benifited from your wisdom! Thanks David for making me remember how lucky I am. For I too worry about my children, Anthony

You sound peaceful, content, and, most importantly, grateful. This is a tender tribute to your family.
