Dreaming of you
by Brian Dickenson (Age: 73)
copyright 05-26-2005

Age Rating: 13 to 127

Sinking slowly into the liquid
Warmth of your eyes I am drowning.
Enveloped in your gentle caress
My soul is soaring.

If this love I feel lasts but a moment,
It lasts forever.
When asked have I felt this way before;
I answer; never.

My heart pounds in my breast,
Near exploding.
Blood pulses in my brain,
Over-loading.

My veins run with fluid fire
When we touch.
My mind starbursts when we kiss.
I love you so much.

Our bodies intertwine,
I'm melting.
I awake alone.
Regretting.

From a writer who perhaps too often allows his heart to rule everything else in his life, all I can really say is, "I wish I had written that." Or written it in that way. Or caused the evocation of feelings that you bring out. Thanks for bringing this "out of the closet," as it were.

My Gosh Brian,
The feelings you must have! My husband has written me some beautiful pieces but nothing that classic/ steamy all at the same time. I hope your putting this all in a book, it will make you flush and sob all at the same time.

I don't read every poem again and again... but this one I do. And every time I do... I feel more of it. More pull, more passion and yet so simply stated. Just wanted to thank you again for posting it.

This is a winner; a very fine write, simple yet expressive; good use of words.
