~To Jalen D. Vincent~

Oct 4th, 2004 time and breathing stopped in our world.
Around your neck wrapped 4x was the embilical cord.

Your Mom was rushed to emergency worried about your little life.
Your Dad, alone, was left to worry about his baby and his wife.

Soon after that, 7lbs, 9oz's, and 19 inches long you finally arrived.
Not a hair too late, kicking and screaming, not even oxygen deprived!

Now 6 months old, and "oh so handsome" with your black little "Einstein" hair.
So loved, so spoiled, everyone looking over the temper which will flair.

Two sacks of taters, a smile that melts Scrooge, and a beautiful light tan.
Sitting up alone, reaching for toys, a bottle, all this you now can!

I can sit all day and look at you, filled with nothing but love.
Snips and snales and puppy dog tails you're definately made of.

Your birth, your growth, I'm so very attached to you.
I will always love you and hope you will love me to.

As you grow up, I wish you love, and that you will always be respected.
With that said, you'll be the best, good education, this is already expected.

If I'm not there and you grow up, please don't forget I love you!
You've taught me much, a miracle of life, and a poopy diaper too!

~~I love you very much Jalen DeAndre~
~That love will never go away~

Written for you from your Auntie Jenny with "love".

Babys are miracled wrapped in the most pleasant smelling skin! :-) What a gift from God! :-) Thank you for this innocent reminder of just how precious they are.

I liked this, brought back memories of when my little girl, (she's 47 now), was born.
Thanks, Brian.

If I had an aunt like you! This was sweet.

Like you said the miracle of life is a winderful thing.
Sounds like a everlasting friendship to me.

This is really nice. He sounds like a darling.

Only a couple small critiques:
In stanza four I think the word should read 'you' not 'you've. Also "Not a hair to late" 'to' should be 'too'.

Children help us to find feelings that we were unaware that we had. Love for a child seems to come eaisly and it feels so wonderful. Congrats to you and of course the parents too! Thanks, Anthony
