A Simple Life
by David Pekrul
copyright 04-13-2005

Age Rating: 10 to 127

My world's not big and flashy,
Nor a place where riches dwell,
No Jags or mansions be here,
But I'm living pretty well.

I have a loving family,
And a wife who treats me right,
My God in Heaven cares for me,
And makes my burdens light.

Now, money would be handy,
For to buy the things I need,
And help those not so fortunate,
And those who know no greed.

But really, when it comes to it,
Our wealth is not what matters,
It's how we live our daily lives,
That makes us glad or sadder.

So go about your living, and
Don't worry about tomorrow,
For chasing after worldly things,
Will only lead to sorrow.

Very true about the worldly things. That's one thing almost all religions agree on, but barely anyone follows.

I like this work, and the message that it has. Great job, David

Money does not buy happiness... but at the liquor store you can come close! This is a true poem about life in the real world! Thanks, Anthony
