Too Young
by Cortney Jaruzel (Age: 18)
copyright 04-18-2005

Age Rating: 10 to 127

I'm too young to understand,
Too oblivious to this world.
Too small to realize,
What it takes to call it "love".
Too empty to smile,
I'm just too young.
I'm tired of being told so,
Tired of feeling dumb.
I know how it feels,
To be so close to someone.
I know how it feels,
To cry, to be alone.
I know how it feels to be hated, unloved.
It hurts...
But they insist I am too young to know,
How it really feels,
For someone like them,
To be hurt.
But I'm human,
I cry.
I bleed,
I scream.
I'm not too young to feel.

Excellent! It's tough being put down like that; people telling you what you should and shouldn't know or feel. Do whatever you think is right.

You are never too young to feel what love is. If you find your true love you will know what love feels like. But I am sure you know what love is but you don't know it. Keep up the good work.

You are never too young or old to feel. And what you feel is real and it's YOURS. You are a great writer already for your age. I felt that way at 15 too. These are your learning years. Learn from them! xoxo
