My Words
by David Pekrul
copyright 04-17-2005

Age Rating: 10 to 127

Why do I write,
And why do I care
If you read my words,
As I lay my soul bare?

I don't owe a thing,
And I've nothing to prove.
I write for myself,
I've no mountains to move.

Don't want to be cruel,
Nor mean to be rude,
I write from my heart
When I'm in the mood.

Please be understanding,
That's just how I am,
I write what I feel,
And do what I can.

If you want to visit,
That's okay with me.
Don't judge what I say,
I just want to be free.

Well said, David. Freedom is one of my Holy words.
Governments come and go, propaganda comes and goes, but once they've got your mind, you're sunk. Fascism and Communism took one's mind as well as body. I thank God for "free Democratic societies everywhere."

Thanks for bringing this back to my mind,

Rich

Once again you say it so well. I think it sums it up for the majority of those of us who have a compulsion to write.
We write for us. I imagine that like you, most have reams of stuff that would not normally see the light of day if it were not for this wonderful PnP.
I certainly never dreamed I would be opening my soul to anyone.
Never stop,
Brian

Dear readers,

I really do truly appreciate all comments on my poetry. These words just spilled out one day, (long before I started submitting to P-n-P) and fell on a piece of paper.

You're all the greatest.
