She's A Classic
by David Pekrul

Contest Winner

Age Rating: 10 to 127

She’s like the Mona Lisa,
But more like Aphrodite,
And she could be a model,
But they are much too flighty.

She works from nine to five each day,
And comes home tired and beat,
Then goes out on the town at night,
I dance her off her feet.

She could have had most anyone,
But ended up with me,
She said she fell headlong in love,
Whatever did she see?

A woman of distinction,
A lady of desire,
I love to look into her eyes,
Of that I’ll never tire.

Yet she can be a tom-boy,
Get dirty with the best,
And sometimes she’s annoying,
And sometimes she’s a pest.

But she is quite a lady,
While others are so ‘plastic’,
I’ll love that lady ‘til I die,
She really is a classic.

this is so sweet and just so romantically wonderful.
in the first paragraph, I couldn't really feel much, and then...
WHAMMY!
you knocked me off my feet.
very gentle, very sweet and very true.
exacty what I meant with 'love radiating in every word.'
'your lady' sure is lucky to have someone like you.
:P.
have a nice day.

Hi David, great seniments. You are so obviously still in love.
Physical beauty is fine but fleeting.
It's what's inside that matters most, and you, you lucky man, have found it.
I'll bet this earned some brownie points when your lady read it.
Regards as always, Brian.

I really like your rhythm and rhyming in this jaunty, happy poem that pays lovely homage to your lady. One of the things I liked best was the way you paid more attention to the qualities that make her a unique person than you did to the way she looks...Bravo. That kind of praise is proof that yours is a love worth having...Lucky lady and very lucky man...

And she had to have her head on straight too. Somebody in the relationship should! This is a great poem to the one you love! I smell a dozen roses...don't I? Anthony
